Daily Column of October 16

Don't let the dark depress you. As the days shorten and the nights grow longer depression finds its way into the light. It is a mysterious phenomena that occurs in places where darkness becomes the main part of the day. When you wake up it is dark, and by the time you return home from school it starts to get dark. While it is light outside you are stuck inside. When it is cold outside you tend to stay inside, and before you know it, the walls start to creep up on you making you feel trapped. Luckily one can always escape by visiting friends and family. Laughing and having a good time makes even the darkest times shine with light. However, you cannot always escape to a party. At some point you will find yourself alone in a room with white walls and florescent light. There is no sound, only you and your thoughts. When you reach this point it is wise to be sure that everything that could possibly depress you is dealt with.
