the dire wolf continues

The snow covered path continued through the woods with no hope fore life. The snow storm had picked up and now it would have been impossible to see a town even if it was withing eye shot on a clear day. Grador turned his horse towards the forest and jumped off to hide in the shelter of the trees The snow was already ankle deep and with every minute a millimeter of more snow came from the sky.
The horse laid down on the snow and Grador piled snow around it to keep the heat in. He then sat down beside his horse and covered himself under his cloak. Under his cloak while leaning against his horses warm belly he started to roll snow balls. As he cleared out more of the snow under and around him he was able to create enough snow balls to create a small snow wall. He piled the snow balls in front of him about a half a meter away from the horses belly. When the balls were out he lifted his cloak and pulled in more snow.
Before he could continue he needed to rest. The wound in his chest was hurting again. The movement had reopened the wound and he could feel the warm blood running down his skin. The rag that had been covering it had gotten loose and was now useless. Grador could not stop even though his wound urged him to do so. The sooner he could Finnish the snow wall and lift up the cloak over the edge so that he could light a oil lamp the better off he would be.
